Erasmus+ is the European Commission’s program for education, training, youth and sport which aims to hone skills and employability as well as modernize education, training and youth systems, in all sectors of Lifelong Learning (Higher Education, Vocational Education and Training, Adult Education, School Education, Youth Activities, etc.).
Erasmus+ is structured in three Basic Actions, the first of which is the mobility of individuals. This Action includes projects that provide eligible students and trainees with the opportunity to move to another participating European country in order to study, work, train and develop professional qualifications and skills.
The PIVT of Neapolis being aware of the above possibilities and opportunities and recognizing the needs of the trainees for continuous and modern training, in recent years is continuously participating in the Erasmus+ program, submitting corresponding mobility plans.
The fact that the competent National Agency (Greek State Scholarship's Foundation) approved the proposed by our institute project of mobility in 2023 enabled 14 students to go to Italy and Hungary so as to train working as interns in businesses in these regions and obtain new valuable experiences coming into mingling with different cultures both in social and professional level.
More specifically, 8 female students of INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE, DECORATION AND OBJECT DESIGN specialty went to Milan, Italy, from 4/5/2023 to 19/5/2023, accompanied by 2 female instructors. During their stay in Milan, the students worked in the well-known architecture office of the city "SESTAGALLI - FULVIO ROGLEDI", where they developed a specific project with special requirements. The work assigned to the students concerned a 200 sq.m. area, which had to be divided into two, three and four apartments in order. After that the decoration of the spaces and the corresponding moodboard were done. At the end of the project, after discussion with the architect, some modifications took place.
The remaining 4 students were employed at the CALIU MILANO interior design office, where they were assigned two tasks: The design of lighting fixtures for a residence in Lake Como, as well as the design and interior configuration of a luxury residence. Also, the students visited places with objects of high architecture.
We should not ignore the equally important cultural and entertainment part of the program as the students and their companions visited all the famous sights of Milan such as the Duomo Cathedral, the Brera Art Gallery, the Sforza Castle, the Santa Maria delle Grazie Church and Lake Como, while they had the opportunity to tour the picturesque narrow streets of the city.
In addition, 5 male and 1 female students of the AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGY specialty went to Budapest, Hungary, during the period 1/5/2023 to 16/5/2023. There they had the opportunity to train at the "Technical School of Mechatronics BGSZC", a modern and fully equipped laboratory centre, where they practiced in cutting-edge technologies of their specialty, such as PLC programming and pneumatic and electro-pneumatic automation systems of special purpose. In addition, they visited the "B.K.V SERVICE LINE", a factory for the manufacture and maintenance of mass transport vehicles (buses, trams, trolleys), where they watched the production line process in detail and practiced in the maintenance and repair department.
In their free time the trainees and their companions had the opportunity to tour the beautiful city of Budapest, take a cruise on the Danube and visit the most important sights of the city such as the Royal Palace of Buda, the Fishermen's Bastion, the Parliament and the church of Matthias.
