Erasmus+ mobilities 2024

Erasmus+ is the European Commission’s program for education, training, youth and sport which aims to hone skills and employability as well as modernize education, training and youth systems, in all sectors of Lifelong Learning (Higher Education, Vocational Education and Training, Adult Education, School Education, Youth Activities, etc.).

Erasmus+ is structured in three Basic Actions, the first of which is the mobility of individuals. This Action includes projects that provide eligible students and trainees with the opportunity to move to another participating European country in order to study, work, train and develop professional qualifications and skills.

The SAEK of Neapoli, being aware of the above possibilities and opportunities and recognizing the needs of the trainees for continuous and modern training, in recent years is continuously participating in the Erasmus+ program, submitting corresponding mobility plans.

The fact that the competent National Agency (Greek State Scholarship's Foundation) approved the proposed by our institute project of mobility in 2024 enabled 24 students to go to Italy and Hungary so as to train working as interns in businesses in these regions and obtain new valuable experiences coming into mingling with different cultures both in social and professional level. Furthermore, 4 organization’s staff members took part in a job shadowing mobility activity in Seville, Spain.

More specifically, in the first mobility activity took part 12 students in total: 7 from the “interior architecture, decoration and object design” department and 5 from the “print and electronic media graphics” department.  Mobility activities took place in Milan, Italy from 27/3/2024 to 13 /4/2024. Our students during the trip and the activities were accompanied by 2 trainers from Greece.

During their stay in Milan, our 4 interior architecture students worked for the city's renowned furniture design and manufacturing company "Falegnameria Cavalleroni". Part of their duties were to map 3 different warehouses, which were the hosting venues of Milan's Art week. Our students designed for each space: 1 floor plan, 2 sections and 1 facade using AutoCAD software. Finally, alternative solutions were proposed, so that these spaces could function as exhibition venues.

The remaining 3 interior architecture students worked at the architectural office "Studio di Architettura Arch. Daniela Sestagalli". There, the students were given a house floor plan and three room layout scenarios (with different numbers of rooms and functions) and they submitted three different layout and design of the interiors proposals for the given spaces. Those tasks were carried out using AutoCAD software (floor plans, elevations, and sections at a scale of 1:50). Plans were checked and approved by the architect Daniela Sestagalli.

The students from the GRAPHIC DESIGN FOR PRINT AND DIGITAL MEDIA department worked at the companies PMR Studio Web and Football Team Store. During mobility days they implemetented various graphic design projects, such as logo design, website graphic updates, aesthetic interventions, and suggestions for a website, etc. Our students participated in workshops and projects, guided by industry experts, in order to improve their technical knowledge of graphic design, and specifically in typography, branding, and digital design. During the program days, they also had the opportunity to connect with local designers, companies and design schools, building business relations that may lead to future collaborations and job opportunities.

We should not ignore the equally important cultural and recreational aspects of the program. Our students and their chaperones visited all the well-known landmarks of Milan such as the Duomo Cathedral, the Brera Art Gallery, the Sforza Castle, the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, Lake Como and had the opportunity to explore the city's picturesque streets.

In the second mobility activity took part 12 students in total (6 students from the VEHICLE MECHANOTRONIC TECHNICIAN department and 6 students from the AESTHETIC ART AND MAKE-UP TECHNICIAN specialty department) accompanied by 2 instructors. The Erasmus+ mobility took place in Budapest, Hungary, from 8/4/2024 to 25/4/2024.

Our 6 technician students worked at the HNH Autószervíz car workshop (2 students) and the Gabilini Autószalonok car dealership (4 students). During those 17 days, they gained valuable experience in the field of vehicle mechatronics.

The other group of 6 make-up students worked at the Institute of Aesthetics, Kleopátra Beauty Salon in two shifts (morning and afternoon). During their tenure, they practiced techniques and skills acquired during their training and had the opportunity to contact professionals in their specialty, thus gaining new experiences.

In their free time, the trainees and their chaperones had the opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Budapest, take a cruise on the Danube, and visit the city's most important landmarks, such as the Buda Royal Palace, the Fisherman's Bastion, the Parliament, and Matthias Church.

The third mobility activity took place in Seville from 6/7/2024 to 14/7/2024 and took part 4 staff members of SAEK Neapoli.

During the mobility, in collaboration with the educational institutions Euromind Projects S.L. and idevelop Training, our staff members implemented a Job Shadowing program, during which they were introduced to the operational methods of the hosting educational organization, and technical details arising during the educational process and administrative operations were analyzed. At the same time, through various activities, they were introduced to aspects of the Spanish education system, as well as the rich culture of Andalusia.
